Veteran Odia singer Geeta Pattnaik was hospitalised in Cuttack on Thursday after suffering a cerebral stroke. Doctors admitted her to a private hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Reports state that Pattnaik attended a literary event in Bhubaneswar earlier in the day. She suddenly fell ill during the program and was rushed to Capital Hospital. Doctors diagnosed a cerebral stroke and referred her to Cuttack for advanced care.

Her condition remains critical, and medical teams are monitoring her closely. Family members have not yet issued an official statement regarding her health.

The news of her hospitalisation has caused concern among fans, fellow artists, and the literary community. Many expressed prayers and support for her recovery.

Geeta Pattnaik has been a prominent figure in Odia music since the 1970s. She is best known for her collaborations with legendary singer Akshaya Mohanty. Her memorable songs include Emiti Pua Ku Mu Baha Huenti, Baha Mu Hebi, and Mo Dehare. Her voice and artistry have left a lasting impact on Odisha’s cultural heritage.
