Mumbai: Actor Arvind Joshi, father of Sharman Joshi and Mansi Joshi Roy, died at Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai on January 29. He was a known face in the Gujarati theatre and film Circuit, also starred in Hindi movies like Apmaan Ki Aag (1990), Sholay (1975), and Ittefaq (1969).
Several celebrities took to social media to mourn the loss of Joshi.
Paresh Rawal tweeted, “Irreparable loss to Indian theatre; with grief we say goodbye to the noted actor Shri Arvind Joshi. A stalwart, a versatile actor, an accomplished thespian, are the words that come to mind when I think of his performances. My condolences to @TheShermanJoshi & family.AUM SHANTI.”

He is survived by his wife and two children, Sharman Joshi and Mansi Joshi Roy. Mansi is married to actor Rohit Roy, while Sharman is the husband of Prem Chopra’s daughter, Prerana Chopra.
Arvind Joshi belonged to a family of actors. He was the brother-in-law of actress Sarita Joshi and uncle of actress Ketki Dave andPurvi Joshi.
