Bhubaneswar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah today offered prayer at the Lingaraj temple here on the first day of the visit.
Shah offered ‘Jalabhishek’ to Lord Lingaraj and performed a Puja near Goddess Parvati inside the temple.
The BJP top leader arrived at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) here on a special flight late last night.
Shah was given a rousing reception by top leaders including state party president Samir Mohanty, National Vice President of party Jay Panda, Opposition chief whip Mohan Majhi, MP Aparajita Sarangi among others at the Bhubaneswar BPI airport.
After arriving, Shah took to Twitter and wrote, “Looking forward to attending various programs in Odisha. I am grateful to the people of Bhubaneswar for the warm welcome.”
The Union Minister is on a two-day visit to Odisha. He is scheduled to attend the 75th anniversary of publication of leading Odia daily Prajatantra at the Indoor Stadium in the Millennium City.
Shah will then return to Bhubaneswar where he is slated to hold discussions with party’s core committee members, office bearers. It is expected that he might give targets to party leaders for the 2024 general elections.
