Sambalpur: Police have arrested two persons- Hira Lakra (35), S/O Kishri Lakra, village Baddudiali and Abinsh Lakra(19), S/O Sagru Lakra, Bhaluduma of Sundergarh district for looting Rs 1.3 lakh from a trader in Sambalpur
The incident had occurred on December 22, 2020 at about 8.30 AM at Pindapathar – Garposh Road when the complainant Ashish Kumar Patel was going towards village Ghansara on his TVS XL bearing the registration No. OD 14 U 2165 carrying cash of about 1.30 lakh.
Patel who belongs to village Mahulchhapal, PS Govindpur, Dist Sambalpur was working for a Spice Money Business Correspondence Agency. Police sources said he was intercepted by above-mentioned culprits near the New Bridge under construction.
The robbery was preplanned as two other culprits arrived there on a white coloured Apache bike. The riders snatched away the bag containing Rs1.30 lakh, Samsung M20 mobile phone and a gold chain.
They assaulted him on his head by the butt of a country-made pistol and brandished a knife to kill him. The culprits sped towards  Garposh and the other two accused persons fled on Hornet bike towards Pindapathar.
Another culprit was at village Pindapathar, who had kept watch on the movement of the complainant and was providing information. The investigation is under progress. Govindplur PS has registered a case bearing the no 177 DT. 22.12.2020 U/S.394/397 IPC/25 Arms Act.
Police have seized one white colour Apache bike having Regd. No. OD 16 D 5479 of accused Hira Lakra and a Red colour Hornet bike having Regd. No. OD 16 E 9765 of the CCL, three nos of mobile phones and one knife along with cash worth Rs.4,600.
