Mumbai: The trailer of ‘Panchayat: Season 3’, the most anticipated web series on Amazon Prime Video was dropped by the producers on Wednesday. The previous season ended on a cliffhanger as it became rather unclear if Abhishek Tripathi (Jitendra Kumar) would remain as the Gram Panchayat secretary in Phulera after Pradhan Pati had a fallout with a politician.
While the trailer begins with the appointment of a new secretary for Phulera, due to some circumstances (or is it destiny?) Tripathi gets called back.
The new season sees the much-loved cast of ‘Panchayat’ – Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, and Sanvikaa, reprise their roles.
The eight-episode series, which premiered with its first season in April 2020, became a phenomenon in no time. The overwhelmingly positive response from audiences and critics alike led to a second season that came out in May 2022.
Created by The Viral Fever, a popular YouTube channel, ‘Panchayat’ narrates the story of Abhishek Tripathi, an engineering graduate who ends up on a low-paying position as a Gram Panchayat Secretary at Phulera, instead of a cushy IT job. His struggle to adapt to the rural way of life and unspoken social codes of Phulera, a remote village in Uttar Pradesh form the basis of this lighthearted comedy. However, despite the seemingly steep cultural differences, Abhishek gradually comes to love Phulera, and Rinki, the Pradhan’s daughter.
