TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL), a joint venture of Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, is taking significant strides to ensure a reliable and high-quality power supply in Raighar, Umerkote, and surrounding areas in Nabarangapur.
This initiative is part of their commitment to meeting the increasing demand, particularly for agricultural needs, through comprehensive network augmentation.
Key Infrastructure Enhancements:
- New Grid Substation (GSS) in Raighar: Construction is underway, supervised by OPTCL, to reinforce electricity distribution across the region.
- Primary Sub-Stations: Three new substations at Dhodra, Jodinga, and Dumrimunda are in the final stages of development, each equipped with 2×5 MVA transformers. These are expected to be commissioned by the end of this month.
- Power Transformer Upgrades: At Raighar Primary Substation, three Power Transformers (PTRs) have been upgraded to 5 MVA and one to 7.5 MVA, optimizing capacity to handle rising load demands.
- Voltage Stability Measures: Optimization of PTR taps and installation of capacitor banks on 11kV feeders have been undertaken to maintain voltage quality and enhance system performance.
- Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVRs): Installation on identified 11kV feeders is in progress to ensure a stable and consistent power supply.
Mr. Amit Kumar Garg, CEO of TPSODL, highlighted the company’s dedication, stating, “Our commitment to strengthening power infrastructure and ensuring reliable electricity supply to our consumers is unwavering. These initiatives in Raighar, Umerkote, and surrounding areas are a testament to our dedication to providing reliable power, enhancing voltage stability, and supporting the socio-economic growth of the region.”
Through these strategic initiatives, TPSODL continues to modernize and fortify the power infrastructure in Raighar and beyond, focusing on innovation, efficiency, and sustainability to empower communities and support economic growth.
