TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, has intensified its campaign to promote solar rooftop installations across Central Odisha under the PM Surya Ghar – Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSGMBY).
To benefit its consumers, TPCODL has waived the net metering processing fee of ₹500 for rooftop solar systems included in the PM Surya Ghar – Muft Bijli Yojana. This waiver eliminates the need for online demand note generation and payment through the payment gateway.
Previously, TPCODL removed the requirement for a technical feasibility study for systems up to 10 kW. Additionally, the company has reduced the time required for site inspections, net metering agreement signing, and net meter installations by designating the Section Manager as the single point of contact for all related activities.
In its efforts to make the scheme increasingly consumer-friendly, TPCODL continuously strives to simplify processes within the regulatory framework.
TPCODL encourages all residential customers to install rooftop solar power systems, generate their own green energy, and save on electricity bills. Attractive financial assistance from both the central and state governments is available to all residential consumers, ensuring a return on investment within three years.
Arvind Singh, CEO of TPCODL, stated, “Our commitment to promoting renewable energy solutions is unwavering. This campaign is not just about installing solar rooftops; it’s about creating lasting change to provide a sustainable future for our communities. We aim to empower residents and businesses to embrace solar energy and contribute to a greener Odisha.”
