Bhubaneswar: In preparation for the ensuing General Elections 2024 in Odisha, top govt officials of the state today convened an important meeting regarding the deployment of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and State Armed Police Forces (SAPF).
In this meeting held at Lok Seva Bhawan, Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena, Home Department Additional Chief Secretary Deo Ranjan Kumar Singh, Chief Election Officer Nikunja Bihari Dhal, Additional Election Officer Dr N. Thirumala Naik, Director General of Police Arun Kumar Sarangi and other senior officials of the State Police Administration participated in the discussion.
In the context of the general elections to be held in, there was a detailed discussion in the meeting regarding the deployment of the police forces as per the requirements in the districts.
It was discussed in the meeting that the police administration will take all measures to ensure that elections are held peacefully on polling days including EVM commissioning and tight security arrangements in the strong rooms.
