Tokyo: Novak Djokovic entered into the quarter-finals of the Tokyo Olympics after he outclassed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in straight sets here on Wednesday.
Djokovic defeated the 34th-ranked Spaniard with 6-3, 6-1 scoreline to extend his winning run to 21 matches. He will next play Kei Nishikori of Japan. Nishikori reached his third straight Olympic quarterfinal by beating Ilya Ivashka of Belarus.
The Serb, a bronze medallist in 2008, is trying to emulate Steffi Graf’s 1988 feat of winning Olympic gold and all four Grand Slams in the same year.
