Odisha is bracing for more turbulent weather as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts continued thunderstorms and heavy rainfall across the state until April 24.
With disruptions already experienced in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, authorities are urging residents to stay informed and take precautions.
The ongoing Kalbaisakhi, a pre-monsoon phenomenon, has triggered strong winds reaching up to 60 km/h, along with lightning and the possibility of hailstorms in certain districts. A yellow alert has been issued for 15 districts, including Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Bhadrak, where intense storms are anticipated.
Residents are advised to remain indoors during severe weather events, as unpredictable conditions may affect transportation, power supply, and daily activities. The IMD recommends staying updated through official notifications and exercising caution when venturing outside.
