Bhubaneswar: Several places in seven districts across Odisha are likely to experience thunderstorm along with lightning today, according to a bulletin issued by the Regional Meteorological Centre.
Reportedly, one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak are likely to witness thunderstorm accompanied by lightning.
“The cyclonic circulation over Jharkhand and neighbourhood extending upto 0.9 km above mean sea level has become less marked. Besides, a cyclonic circulation lies over southeast Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood and extends upto 1.5 km above mean sea level. Under the influence, several parts of Odisha will experience light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm activities till March 14,” the bulletin read.
On the other hand, one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Koraput and Nabarangpur are expected to experience Light to moderate rain or thundershower.
Meanwhile, an yellow warning has been issued for districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak that will witness Thunderstorm with lightning.
From 8.30 AM of March 13 up to 8.30 PM of March 14:
Light to moderate rain or thundershower likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Gajapati and Ganjam. Besides, dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest parts of the state.
