Malkangiri: In a bizarre way of loot, a youth robbed off his landlord, identified to be a Jewellery Shop Owner, after feeding him sedative laced sweets.
The incident has been reported from Bibiguda area under Sadar Mahakuma of Malkangiri district.
As per available reports, the accused youth, who was staying as a tenant at the victim’s house, offered sweets to the landlord including his family members and a few of his neighbours on the pretext of bagging a new job.
However, the landlord’s family immediately fell unconscious after consuming the sweets laced with a sedative.
Following this, the accused took away gold ornaments worth Rs 35 lakhs and cash amount to Rs 2 lakhs.
The theft came to light when the victims woke up, sources said.
