A devastating explosion at a chemical factory in Telangana’s Sangareddy district has left a trail of destruction, claiming the lives of four Odia workers and critically injuring four others.

The incident occurred on Monday morning following a tank rupture, triggering a massive fire.

The victims identified are:

  • Jagan Mohan from Ganjam
  • Lagnajit Duari from Tigiria, Cuttack
  • Manoj Rout from Balasore
  • Dolagobinda Sahu from Jajpur

Four more workers from Odisha remain in critical condition and are undergoing treatment. Odisha’s OSD Pratish Panda confirmed the identities and coordinated with Telangana officials. A two-member team from the Odisha government has already visited the site.

According to sources, over 150 employees were present in the factory during the blast—many of the deceased hail from Odisha, West Bengal, and Bihar. The force of the explosion was so powerful that bodies were flung over 100 meters.

The blast claimed the lives of more than 35 people, and the death toll continues to rise.

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy has announced Rs 1 crore as ex gratia for the families of the deceased, Rs 10 lakh for the critically injured, and Rs 5 lakh for those with minor injuries.

As rescue operations continue, families await the safe return of survivors while mourning their profound loss. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the tragic incident.
