SUV Having Police Beacon Seized For Ganja Smuggling In Malkangiri, 3 Held

Malkangiri: Police here have arrested three persons on charges of smuggling ganja in an SUV with police sticker on the windshield and a blue beacon on the top of the vehicle. The incident was reported from Balimela area of Malkangiri district. Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted an SUV near Nakamamudi Chhak. Soon after, some of the occupants of the vehicle alighted and fled the spot. However, police caught hold of three persons. During the search, ganja packed in four sacks weighing around one quintal was seized from the vehicle. Following this, police seized the vehicle and arrested three accused, identified as Raju Khalifa (24), Rajeev Kumar (26), and Ashok Kumar (26) of Bihar, under relevant Sections of IPC.
