The Odisha government has announced the appointment of Suresh Pant as the new Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) & Head of Forest Force (HoFF) in the state.
Pant, a distinguished 1990-batch Indian Forest Service officer, will succeed Debidutta Biswal, an officer of the 1988 batch, who retired on Friday.
Hailing from Uttarakhand, Suresh Pant brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He has been serving as the Managing Director (MD) of Odisha Forest Development Corporation (OFDC) Ltd since 2021. Before his tenure at OFDC, Pant held significant positions, including Regional Chief Conservator of Forests (RCCF) in Bhawanipatna Circle, Kalahandi district, from November 24, 2015, to July 22, 2018. He also served as RCCF in Berhampur Circle from July 25, 2018.
The appointment of Suresh Pant is expected to bolster the administration and conservation efforts of Odisha’s forests, leveraging his extensive expertise and leadership skills.
