Sundargarh: The Odisha government is set to launch the third phase of its ambitious cash transfer scheme, Subhadra Yojana, on November 24th in Sundargarh. This phase aims to provide financial assistance to over 2 million women across the state.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced that each beneficiary will receive a total of Rs 50,000 over five years. The funds will be disbursed in annual installments of Rs 10,000, credited directly to the beneficiaries’ Aadhaar-linked bank accounts. This initiative is part of the state’s broader effort to empower women and improve their socio-economic status.
The Subhadra Yojana, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is the largest women-centric scheme in Odisha, targeting over one crore women by the end of its implementation. The scheme includes women aged 21 to 60 years, with a focus on those who were previously excluded from the first two phases.
Deputy CM Parida emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring that all eligible women receive the benefits. “Verification of documents has been completed, and we are confident that we will reach our target by December,” she stated.
