Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to expedite the benefits of the Subhadra Yojana, Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida has announced a commitment to verify rejected applications within 15 days. This announcement comes as a relief to many applicants who have faced delays in the approval process.
The Subhadra Yojana, a flagship scheme aimed at empowering women through financial assistance, has seen a surge in applications, particularly from girls turning 21 this month. Deputy CM Parida has urged all eligible young women to apply promptly to ensure they do not miss out on the benefits.
“We understand the importance of timely financial support for our young women. Therefore, we are committed to verifying all rejected applications within 15 days to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out,” said Parida.
The scheme, which has already benefited millions of women across the state, provides financial aid to women aged 21 to 60. Each beneficiary receives ₹50,000 over five years, distributed in annual installments of ₹10,000. The funds are directly transferred to the beneficiaries’ Aadhaar-linked bank accounts, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
The government has also focused on regions like Malkangiri, Gajapati, and Koraput, where the need for financial support is particularly high. The swift verification process is expected to address the backlog of applications and ensure that all eligible women receive their due benefits promptly.
For more information on how to apply and check the status of applications, beneficiaries can visit the official Subhadra Yojana website or contact their local government offices.
This initiative underscores the Odisha government’s commitment to women’s empowerment and financial inclusion, aiming to uplift the socio-economic status of women across the state.
