Bhubaneswar: Southwest Monsoon is likely to enter Odisha in the next three to four days, informed the Bhubaneswar regional centre of the IMD. The Monsoon will first arrive in south Odisha before spreading to other areas.
IMD also said that conditions are now favourable for the onset of the Monsoon as usually, the monsoon enters Odisha in the second week of June.
Manorama Mohanty, director of IMD Bhubaneswar said, “The Southwest Monsoon usually arrives in Odisha towards the second week of June – 12th or 13th. We expect the Monsoon to touch south Odisha in the next three to four days. Till now, conditions are favourable.”
Southwest Monsoon touched the Andamans and Kerala well in advance. It normally sets in over Kerala on June 1 and advances to North-East parts of India in the next couple of days.
