Seoul: South Korea reported a new record daily high 342,446 COVID-19 cases, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency said on Wednesday, amid a surge of Omicron infections.
South Korea’s daily cases surpass 300,000 for the first time, surging to 342,446 from 202,702 a day ago, as tens of millions of voters cast their ballots to elect a new president.
Total cases have now reached 5.21 million with 9,440 deaths. COVID-19 patients will be given exclusive access to polling stations for 90 minutes from 6 p.m.
