A minor fire incident at the Park Hyatt hotel in Banjara Hills caused a brief stir on Monday morning.
Thick plumes of smoke were spotted rising from the cellar of the luxury hotel, which was hosting the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The fire, reported to have been electrical in nature, was contained swiftly by firefighters from the Jubilee Hills and Secretariat fire stations. The call for assistance was made around 8:50 a.m., and emergency responders promptly brought the situation under control. Officials confirmed that no casualties, injuries, or rescue operations were required.
By the time the incident occurred, most members of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team had already left for the airport, heading to Mumbai for their next IPL match.
Fire department officials stated that a follow-up inspection would be conducted to identify the fire’s cause and ensure the building’s safety.
Despite the scare, the hotel sustained no significant damage, and the IPL team’s journey continued uninterrupted.
