In a troubling breach of security, a drone was spotted flying over the revered Jagannath Temple in Puri on Sunday, raising serious questions about the enforcement of the no-fly zone surrounding the sacred site.
According to sources, the drone hovered above the temple complex—including Anand Bazaar and Snana Mandap—for approximately 15 minutes during the ritual of changing the temple’s ceremonial flags.
This marks the second such incident within a week, sparking concern among devotees and temple authorities. The drone’s presence during the flag-changing ceremony has led to suspicion falling on certain servitors involved in the ritual. With no clarity on the drone’s origin or operator, the incident has prompted calls for a thorough investigation.
