An intelligence note indicated that terrorists may attempt an improvised explosive device (IED) attack near the Red Fort and temples in Chandni Chowk. The suspected plan reportedly links to a retaliatory move following the February 6 blast at a mosque in Islamabad. Agencies warned that prominent temples across India could remain vulnerable.
Delhi Police and central security forces intensified surveillance in Old Delhi. They deployed additional personnel, increased vehicle checks, and conducted anti-sabotage inspections near temples and tourist hubs. Security teams focused on Chandni Chowk and Red Fort areas, which draw large crowds daily.
