Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi celebrated Rakhi Purnima with school children at Saraswati Vidya Mandir in Arvind Nagar, Jeypore.
The event, held on Saturday during the CM’s two-day visit to Koraput district, saw students tying sacred rakhis on his wrist, symbolising protection and affection.
Deputy Chief Ministers K.V. Singhdeo and Pravati Parida, along with Ministers Nityananda Gond, Gokulananda Mallick, and Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati, also graced the occasion. Adding a personal touch, Deputy CM Parida tied rakhis to Singhdeo and Bahinipati, reinforcing the spirit of unity and camaraderie.
Speaking at the event, CM Majhi emphasised the government’s focus on inclusive development. “Our aim is to ensure that all welfare schemes reach the people of southern Odisha, including Jeypore,” he said, highlighting the administration’s commitment to regional upliftment.
The Rakhi Purnima celebration not only showcased cultural traditions but also served as a platform for reaffirming the state’s developmental priorities.
