Bhubaneswar: Transport officials on Thursday slapped a fine of Rs 2 lakh on a school bus here as it launched a crackdown on unfit and unsafe vehicles transporting children to schools across the State.
According to reports, a special squad of Transport department, Bhubaneswar, launched a crackdown on unfit and unsafe vehicles transporting children to schools at Damana Square in the morning. During the drive, the bus was found lacking registration and fitness, violating air and noise pollution and plying without insurance.
Following this, a challan of Rs 2,33,234 was issued to the bus driver.
