Koraput: The Department of Sanskrit at Central University of Odisha, Koraput, is currently hosting a Sanskrit Week Festival.
This celebration is being held with great enthusiasm from 16 to 26 August 2024. Throughout the week, numerous competitions have been organized for the university’s students, including events such as Shloka Recitation, Essay Writing, Speech, Painting, and Rangoli competitions.
As part of this series of events, the Sanskrit Week Festival was inaugurated by the Sanskrit Department on Friday. Presiding over the inauguration ceremony, Prof. Narsingh Charan Panda, Dean, of the School of Languages and Head of the Department of Sanskrit, stated that Sanskrit is the language of the gods and efforts should be made to make it a common language.
He also urged everyone to engage in Sanskrit conversation and shared his thoughts on the importance of Sanskrit in our lives.
All the faculty members of the Sanskrit Department, including Dr Sanjeev Sarkar, Dr Naveen Kumar Pradhan, Dr Devashish Karmakar, Dr Birendra Kumar Sarangi, and Mr Satyabrat Mishra, participated enthusiastically in the event.
On this occasion, a Shloka Recitation competition was organized for the department’s students, where all participants showcased their talent by reciting Shlokas melodiously.
