The National Conference on “The Living Constitution: 75 Years of Democracy, Dignity and Development” concluded today at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre (DAIC).
Organised by the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation (DAF) under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, the event marked the grand finale of Samvidhan @75.
The conference opened with addresses by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India (Retd.) and senior officials. Moreover, speakers called the Constitution a living document that guides democracy, development, and social justice.
A special exhibition by the National Archives of India displayed rare documents and photographs from the Constitution-making period.
Two panel discussions followed. Panel I explored democracy, dignity, and development in the 21st century. Panel II examined constitutional pathways to social justice, digital inclusion, and Ambedkar’s vision for Viksit Bharat 2047.
More than 700 participants, including professors, fellows, and students, joined the deliberations. Furthermore, the conference released the book “One India through Digital India” by Prof. James Stephen Meka. The Hon’ble Chief Justice praised it for clarity and relevance.
During the valedictory session, the Union Minister launched the first phase of the Consolidation of All Portals of DoSJE, a major step in digital governance. Consequently, the initiative will improve transparency, accessibility, and service delivery.
Ultimately, the conference reaffirmed India’s commitment to democracy, dignity, and development, paying tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s legacy.
