Udala: In a bid to promote national integration and communal harmony among people of all religions, languages, and regions, all the staff of Mayurbhanj’s Kaptipada subdivision on Wednesday observed Sadbhavna Diwas.
On this occasion, a pledge-taking ceremony was observed outside of the conference hall of the Sub-Collector, Kaptipda, Udala. The pledge-taking ceremony was held in the presence of the Kaptipada Sub-Collector, Shri Sushanta Kumar Barik (OAS (S)), and other staff of the Sub-Collectorate.

Among others, Udala Tahasildar, Sri Priyaranjan Jena, Assistant Collector Manoj Kumar Sahu, PA, ITDA, were also present on that occasion.
According to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi is observed as Sadbhavana Diwas every year on the 20th of August. But this year 19th and 20th August are falling govt. holiday for Central Govt. Officers, for which as per instruction of the government, the Sadbhavna pledge-taking ceremony was observed on the 18th of August this year.
Notably, the idea behind the observance of “Sadbhavana Divas” is to eschew violence and to promote goodwill among the people.
