A bold and refreshing hiring approach by Indian-origin entrepreneur Sudarshan Kamath has gone viral on X (formerly Twitter), as he opens applications for a full-stack tech lead at his startup Smallest AI — with a whopping Rs 1 crore compensation package and zero requirement for a college degree or résumé.

Kamath, who founded the Bengaluru-based startup, posted an eye-catching job offer with a total CTC of Rs 1 crore — Rs 60 lakh as fixed annual salary and Rs 40 lakh in company equity. The role is immediate join, full-time, and requires five days a week of in-office work, though with some flexibility.

The post’s direct and unconventional tone — captioned “Hiring a cracked full-stack lead at Smallest AI” — has drawn widespread attention for ditching traditional hiring methods. Instead of lengthy applications or interviews, Kamath asks interested candidates to send a 100-word personal introduction and links to their best work.

Applicants should ideally have 4–5 years of hands-on experience, particularly in Next.js, Python, and React.js. Bonus points are offered for those who’ve built and scaled systems from scratch.

Kamath’s approach reflects a growing shift in tech hiring — prioritizing real-world skills over academic pedigree or polished résumés. As the post gains momentum online, it’s sparked conversation across the startup and tech communities about redefining how talent is discovered and valued.
