A contractual driver of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Bhaktaram Kar (50), lost his life in a road accident near Minapali village under the jurisdiction of Titlagarh police station.
The mishap occurred while Kar was returning to Titlagarh from his ancestral village, Katagaon in Kalahandi district, on a motorcycle around 3 PM yesterday.
According to initial reports, Kar was en route to resume duty when he met with the fatal accident on the Jagua–Minapali road stretch. The exact cause of the accident remains unclear, and the surrounding circumstances have raised suspicions. Titlagarh police have seized the body and sent it for autopsy while continuing their investigation into the incident.
Kar was known for his amiable nature and philanthropic spirit. His untimely demise has triggered an outpouring of grief among departmental officials and the local community, who remember him as a dedicated and compassionate individual.
