The Indian opener entered the first ODI against South Africa needing three sixes to surpass Afridi’s tally of 351. Rohit now leads the chart with 352 sixes in ODIs, ahead of Afridi’s 351, Chris Gayle’s 331, Sanath Jayasuriya’s 270, and MS Dhoni’s 229. His achievement adds to an already illustrious career where he also holds the record for most sixes in T20 internationals with 205 and has struck 88 sixes in Test cricket. These numbers push his overall international tally to 642 sixes, another world record.
