Balasore: The body of a retired teacher was recovered from a field at Balikhanda village under Simulia police limits of Balasore district on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Anand Chandra Patri.
According to reports, the incident came to the fore after some locals spotted the body with several deep injuries and immediately alerted the police about the same.
On being informed, police reached the spot and recovered the body. Meanwhile, Anand’s wife has been rescued from the house in critical condition and admitted to Bhadrak district headquarters hospital.
Following a probe has been launched and further investigation is underway, an official said.
