Kandhamal: A former head clerk in Kandhamal district has been sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment in a bribery case.
The accused has been identified as Chittaranjan Singh, Ex-Head Clerk (Retired), Office of Block Education Officer, Daringbadi Block, Dist-Kandhamal.
Singh was charge-sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in Berhampur Vigilance PS case no 22/ 23.11.2020 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 for demanding and accepting a bribe from a complainant to process his application for a job under the rehabilitation scheme.
He was convicted by Special Judge, Vigilance, Phulbani and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 3 years and a fine.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for the stoppage of the pension of Sri Chittaranjan Singh, Ex-Head Clerk (Retired) following his conviction.
