The mega rural fair, Sisir Saras 2026, hosted at the IDCO Exhibition Grounds in Bhubaneswar, organised jointly by ORMAS and Subhadra Shakti, saw an unprecedented turnout on Sunday evening.
The remarkable public response was fueled by the enthusiasm for the wide range of rural products showcased at various stalls, a strong interest in Odisha’s traditional handloom and handicrafts, and the delightful array of food offered at the food stalls. This combination attracted a large number of visitors to the fairground.
In response to the growing public demand, ORMAS has extended the fair by an additional two days. Originally scheduled to end on Sunday, Sisir Saras 2026 will now continue through Monday and Tuesday.
On Sunday evening, visitors flocked to the fair, purchasing household items and rural products while savouring a diverse selection of delicacies available at the food stalls.
To enhance the festive atmosphere, artists performed a vibrant mix of modern and traditional dance and music on the main stage, captivating the audience.
Despite the winter chill, the crowd was thoroughly entertained by the musical band ‘Nirbak’, led by popular Odia actress and singer Prakruti Mishra. Additionally, the humorous performance by renowned Odia comedian Pragyan Ojha kept the audience laughing throughout the evening.
With its impressive display of handicrafts, handloom products, indigenous cuisine, and rich cultural traditions, Sisir Saras 2026 has established itself as one of the largest and most popular rural fairs in the country.
