The Odisha Vigilance Department has placed Raja Kishore Jena, Assistant Engineer of Roads & Buildings (R&B), Division-III, Bhubaneswar, under arrest for possession of disproportionate assets (DA).
The arrest follows extensive searches and scrutiny of properties linked to Jena, which revealed staggering wealth accumulation far beyond known sources of income. According to the Vigilance team, Jena owns:
- One multi-storeyed building in Niladri Vihar
- Two residential flats in Cosmopolis, Bhubaneswar
- Two commercial outlets at Galleria Mall and Symphony Mall
- 13 high-value plots across key locations
- Deposits worth Rs. 75 lakhs
- Nearly Rs. 67 lakhs spent on children’s education
These findings form the basis of Vigilance Cell PS Case No. 9/2025, registered under the provisions dealing with disproportionate assets. Jena is expected to be produced before the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, later today.
Officials say the accused failed to account for the wealth satisfactorily, and further investigations are underway to unearth additional links.
This arrest comes as part of Odisha Vigilance’s renewed crackdown on corruption among public servants and is expected to send strong ripples across departments.
