New Delhi: Heavy rains lashed parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) in the early hours of Sunday following which several areas were water-logged.
The Delhiites on Sunday woke up to witness moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms. However, this once again disrupted the traffic in parts of the national capital as several sections got water-logged.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that moderate to heavy rainfall would continue all across north India, including Delhi-NCR, western Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan for the next four days due to a “well-marked low-pressure area and a monsoon trough”.
The IMD has issued an orange alert for Monday in Delhi. According to the weather department, Delhi is likely to witness continued showers in the coming two days along with strong winds.
On Saturday, a portion of a busy road caved in under the IIT flyover due to heavy rain. While no injuries were reported, the collapse of the small stretch of the road disrupted traffic in the area.
