Chennai: The Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is expected to kickstart party’s campaign for the assembly polls. He is on a three-day visit to Tamil Nadu on Saturday.
The state is likely to go to polls in April-May 2021.
A party leader said the former Congress chief will interact with farmers, representatives of the MSME sector, trade unions, labourers and weavers in the state.
The former Congress president will also attend election meetings in Coimbatore and Tirupur districts along with visiting Erode for a party meeting.
Gandhi has earlier asserted that the present Congress-Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) alliance would continue for the elections.
Rahul Gandhi, on January 14, had witnessed ”jallikattu”, bull-taming sport, event in Madurai in southern Tamil Nadu. This will be his second visit to the state this month.
