Puri: The Puri district administration has introduced the ‘Rath Yatra 2024’ mobile application to enhance the accessibility of information for pilgrims and tourists attending the Rath Yatra in Puri. This initiative marks the first of its kind by the district administration.
With this app, users can conveniently locate services such as the nearest drinking water facilities, health centres, free food distribution points, police aid posts, child desks, helplines, information centres, temporary shelters, wheelchair arrangements for persons with disabilities, lifeguard services, control rooms, and more.
Additionally, the app provides details on nearby hotels, restaurants, parking areas, and religious sites. It includes a navigation feature to assist users in reaching these locations.
The ‘Rath Yatra 2024’ app is available for download via a QR code for all Android smartphones. It will be updated with all essential information pertaining to the Rath Yatra up to the Niladri Bije event.
Puri Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain has expressed that the app will be extremely useful for individuals seeking information during the bustling Rath Yatra. Swain also mentioned that there are ongoing plans to develop a comprehensive city app for Puri in the near future.
