Hundreds of aspirants gathered outside the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) office in Bhubaneswar on Monday, demanding the cancellation of the recently conducted Excise and Traffic Sub-Inspector recruitment exams.
The protesters alleged serious discrepancies, claiming that several questions in the examination were not in accordance with the prescribed syllabus.
Tensions rose as aspirants accused the OSSC of compromising the integrity of the recruitment process. A delegation attempted to submit a memorandum to the OSSC Chairman but was reportedly denied an audience. “We prepared according to the official guidelines, but the inclusion of out-of-syllabus questions has jeopardised our futures,” said one of the protesters.
In response to the growing unrest, Odisha’s Higher Education Minister assured strict action against those responsible and promised a thorough inquiry. Meanwhile, security has been tightened around the OSSC premises as the protesters vow to escalate their agitation if their demands are not met.
