New Delhi: Protests have erupted in several states across India over the controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammad by two now-suspended BJP functionaries.
According to reports, two policemen were injured in stone-pelting.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had already issued an advisory to all states to be vigilant for trouble ahead of Friday prayers.
The BJP on June 5 suspended Sharma and expelled its Delhi unit media head Naveen Kumar Jindal as the row over their alleged derogatory remarks against Prophet Mohammad escalated with protests from some Muslim countries.
In UP, around 227 people have been arrested following the protests.
Two young men were also injured in the violence that erupted in Ranchi during protests against controversial comments.
