Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu will be on a two-day visit to Odisha from today. This will be her maiden visit to the state after assuming office as the President of India.
She will reach the Biju Patnaik International Airport at 10:50 AM. She will be welcomed by the governor, chief minister, and other senior leaders of Odisha at the airport. She will also be given the guard of honour at the airport. Following this, she will depart for Puri by an airforce helicopter.
After offering prayer at Jagannath temple, she will offer floral tributes at the statue of Utkalmani Pandit Gopabandhu Das near the Singhadwar of the Srimandir.
Murmu will then head to the Puri Raj Bhavan and return to Bhubaneswar in the afternoon.
Later, the President will visit the Raj Bhavan and there is a proposal to hold a civic reception. After the program on the 10th, the President will rest at the Raj Bhavan.
On the second day of the visit (November 11), the President is likely to visit Tapoban High School, Unit-II Government Girls High School and Kuntala Kumari Sabat tribal student hostel at Khandagiri.
Later, the President will inaugurate engineering books, engineering dictionary compiled by AICTE, at a function at Jaydev Bhavan. She will fly back to Delhi on November 11 afternoon.
24 platoons of police force will stay active at Puri for the president’s security. This is the first visit of President Murmu after being appointed in the office. Elaborate security arrangements have been made in Bhubaneswar and Puri. Over 75 platoons of police force will stay active in these two cities during her visit.
