A heated argument during a carrom game amid Holi celebrations in Cuttack Bayalis Mouja took a tragic turn when Prakash Sutar allegedly shot and killed Bikas Mohanty at close range.

According to police, the dispute, fueled by alcohol, escalated into violence, culminating in this fatal incident. An illegal firearm, an empty cartridge, and liquor bottles were seized from the scene.

According to DCP Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo, investigations revealed no financial disputes between the accused and the victim. However, authorities are probing the origins of the illegal gun and examining CCTV footage and call records.

Prakash Sutar, who has a history of living in multiple locations, has been arrested and forwarded to court following legal proceedings. Officials plan to seek his remand to uncover further details regarding the firearm and the incident.

The tragedy shocked the local community, highlighting the dangers of unchecked arguments and access to illegal weapons. Further investigations are underway.
