J&K: In connection with the recent terror attack on a pilgrims’ bus in the Kanda area of Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir, police have detained 50 individuals, confirmed officials on Thursday.
“District Police Reasi have detained 50 individuals in connection with the recent terrorist attack on a pilgrims’ bus in the Kanda area of Police Station Pouni”, said the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Reasi, Mohita Sharma.
Sharma revealed that the Kanda Police Station is conducting an intensive investigation into the incident. Search operations have been expanded to the Arnas and Mahore areas in an effort to gather more evidence and apprehend any hidden terrorists. She urged the public to stay alert and promptly report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
“The law enforcement agencies are committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice and ensuring the safety and security of all residents and visitors in the area,” she said.
The Jammu and Kashmir region has recently experienced a surge in violence, with three major attacks within a week; the Reasi terror attack, the Kathua terror attack and the Doda terror attack.
The first of these incidents occurred on June 9, when a bus in Reasi was targeted by terrorists. The attack caused the bus to fall into a gorge, leading to the tragic death of at least nine pilgrims and leaving 42 others injured.
