Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 72nd National Volleyball Tournament on January 4, 2026, at 12 noon through video conferencing.
The inaugural ceremony will take place at Dr Sampoornanand Sports Stadium, Varanasi.
The tournament will run from January 4 to 11, and it will bring together more than 1,000 players from 58 teams representing states and institutions across India. Organisers expect the event to showcase high standards of competition, sportsmanship, and emerging talent in Indian volleyball.
