PM Modi Meets Economists Ahead Of Budget 2024-25

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a crucial meeting with economists on Thursday ahead of the Union Budget 2024.

The government is set to present its first entire Budget of the third term on July 23. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also participated in the pre-budget meeting.

In addition to economists and sectoral experts, Niti Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Bery and other members also took part in the meeting. This meeting is highly crucial for the upcoming Budget.

This will be the first major economic document of the Modi 3.0 government, which is expected to outline a road map for making India a developed nation by 2047.

Sitharaman has already engaged in discussions with various stakeholders, including economists and industry leaders, regarding the forthcoming Budget.

Several experts have called for the government to provide tax relief to boost consumption and implement measures to control inflation and accelerate economic growth.

The economy recorded an 8.2 per cent growth rate in 2023-24. In February, Sitharaman presented an interim Budget for 2024-25 in preparation for the Lok Sabha elections.
