Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “the world’s most popular leader” and an inspiration while welcoming him to Jharsuguda on behalf of 4.5 crore people of the state.
CM Majhi called Modi’s visit a moment of joy for Odisha, invoking Lord Jagannath and recalling that Modi had laid the foundation stone of Veer Surendra Sai Airport eight years ago. “Today, this airport is giving momentum to the development of western Odisha,” he noted.
Majhi highlighted Modi’s role in shaping India’s security posture, referencing the country’s response to the Pahalgam massacre. He also reminded the gathering of welfare and development initiatives, including the Subhadra Yojana, launched last year, which now benefits over one crore women with Rs 10,000 annually.
The Chief Minister praised the green initiative Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, noting that Odisha planted 1.5 crore saplings under the campaign, exceeding the initial target of 75 lakh.
Concluding his remarks, Majhi said every visit by the Prime Minister brought new development opportunities for Odisha. “Odisha is moving fast under your guidance. We hope this visit will bring fresh opportunities for our people,” he added.
Majhi also highlighted the state’s progress under the Utkarsh Odisha initiative, industrial investments, and growth achieved under Modi’s leadership over the last 11 years. He praised the GST reforms, calling them a “festive gift” for Odisha, and reiterated the mission to make India a developed nation by 2045.
