PM Modi Highlights Mission to Eliminate Sickle Cell Disease by 2047

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today shared an article by Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda detailing the National Sickle Cell Anaemia Elimination Mission, a major public health initiative aimed at eradicating the genetic disorder by 2047.


In a post from the PMO India handle on X, the Prime Minister called the mission a milestone in advancing equity and dignity in healthcare. He described it as ushering in “a new era in public health,” addressing both prevention and treatment.

The post urged citizens to read Nadda’s detailed reflection on the mission’s strategy and vision for a Sickle Cell Disease-free India.
