PM Modi at G7 Warns Terrorism Supporters: ‘Will Have to Pay the Price’; Slams Double Standards

At the G7 Outreach Summit held in Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a strong global message against terrorism, calling out the double standards of the international community and warning that nations supporting terrorism will face consequences.

Speaking in the presence of world leaders, Modi condemned the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, calling it not just an attack on India, but on “the soul, identity, and dignity of every Indian” and on humanity itself.

“There should be no place for double standards on terrorism. While sanctions are imposed quickly based on preferences, countries that sponsor terror are being rewarded,” he said.

Modi emphasized that terrorism is a threat to all democratic nations and that global peace and prosperity require a zero-tolerance approach. He cautioned:

“If any country supports terrorism, it will have to pay the price.”

His remarks were also a veiled criticism of certain Western stances that appear lenient towards nations seen as breeding grounds or backers of terrorism.

The speech reflects India’s increasingly assertive position on counter-terrorism diplomacy and aligns with its long-standing demand for a comprehensive global convention on terrorism.
