New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief ministers are likely to get vaccinated against Covid-19 in the second round, sources said.
So far, as per data of Union Health Ministry, a total of 7,86,842 beneficiaries have been vaccinated for the novel coronavirus as on 20 January 2021, 06:00 pm.
In the second phase, it is the turn of those above 50 and people with comorbidities to take shots.
In response to reports of PM Narendra Modi being likely to receive the anti-Covid vaccine in the second round of inoculations, official sources said those above 50 will automatically be covered in the second phase.
The country is currently administering the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine, made by Serum Institute of India and known locally as Covishield, and the Bharat Biotech-manufactured Covaxin.
