The Pitabas Panda murder case has taken another dramatic turn with new allegations. Lawyer Deepak Pattnayak, representing Bikram Panda, accused the police of concealing crucial evidence linked to the case.
Investigators recovered a secret chamber key from Pitabas’s belongings after his murder. Inside, they found photographs and a pen drive. The photos allegedly showed Bikram in compromising situations with a woman, liquor glasses nearby, and intimate gestures. Pattnayak stated that police seized these items in the presence of Pitabas’s wife, Susmita, and even mentioned them in the chargesheet. He argued that the evidence never appeared in court, raising suspicions of suppression.
The lawyer’s claims intensified the mystery around the case. Questions emerged: Were the photos genuine or fabricated? Why were they not produced in court? Who was the woman seen with Bikram?
Police have not yet responded to the allegations. Meanwhile, the chargesheet filed on January 4 spans over 1,600 pages and details multiple failed attempts on Pitabas’s life before his murder on October 6 last year at Baikunthanagar Square in Berhampur.
Public attention remains fixed on the case as demands grow for scientific verification of the seized materials.
