Police investigating the death of a young woman in Paradip uncovered shocking details, suspecting that she was sexually assaulted before being thrown from the fourth floor of a building.
The victim, a Plus III student from Kolar village under Tirtol police limits, was found dead beneath a residential building in Tarinigada late Sunday night. Initially registered as an unnatural death, the case took a serious turn after police examined CCTV footage.
Reports revealed that the victim had visited Sarala Temple with a male friend earlier that day. Following a disagreement, she left the vehicle and was later seen alone on the Cuttack–Paradip road. A non-Odia youth allegedly offered her a lift and took her to his rented accommodation in the same building where her body was discovered.
Investigators suspect that the accused assaulted the woman and then pushed her off the rooftop to stage the incident as an accident. Police detained the suspect and began questioning him to uncover the full sequence of events.
The case has sparked outrage in the community and raised concerns about women’s safety. Authorities assured that strict action will follow once the investigation confirms the circumstances of the crime.
The Paradip woman’s death case highlights the urgent need for vigilance and stronger measures to protect women from such heinous acts. Police continue to gather evidence and pursue justice for the victim and her family.
